About the Race

Returning for its 19th year , The Turkey Burn Adventure Race will continue its run as one of the longest-running adventure races in Florida.

Race director Dave Brault, who has been the race’s course designer since its inception in 2003, has some amazing fun surprises in store for all teams! Dave’s course has offered some of the most challenging strategy, navigation, and terrain for elite racers.

Sport Race – The Sport race participants can expect a fun and challenging course with lots of surprises along the way. The race is designed for both entry level participants as well as those “solid” athletes that want a challenge. During the three main legs of the race (canoe paddling, off-road biking, and orienteering/walking/running on and off trails) there will be different levels of difficulty to find the checkpoints. You should plan to be on each leg of the race at least 70 minutes, but that will depend on the choices your team makes. FLX loves to see new racers as well as experienced racers challenging themselves. For those “new racers” not familiar with using a compass please come to the race early to get additional instructions. Elite Race – This is the premier elite race of the season. You can expect challenging navigation and terrain worthy of elite-class adventure racing. This course is designed for experienced elite racers. Teams should have navigation experience and be able to handle all challenges.
